How do I know what size of lift I need?
If you are unsure about how much your boat or PWC weighs, check the NADA guide by clicking here. (NADA stands for the North American Dealer Association.) The website provides complete specifications, including weight, for most watercraft.
When calculating the capacity of the lift you need, remember to add 1.7 lbs for every litre of fuel, make an allowance for the weight of the gear you typically carry, and make another allowance for the weight of the passengers that may be in the boat while it is on the lift. As a rule of thumb, it is a good idea to add about 550 lbs to the weight of the boat (80 litres of fuel @ 1.7lbs/litre, 100 lbs for gear, and 300 lbs for a couple people who may be on board).
